Director of eCommerce (Personal Care), Middle East

About the Job

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, who is a prominent leader in the CPG Personal Care. The Head of eCommerce is responsible and accountable for leading and executing the overall e-commerce strategy for the organization in the Middle East. This role leads a fast growing team that involves overseeing all aspects of online sales, marketing, and operations to drive revenue growth, enhance customer experience, achieve business objectives, and ensure long term development of online sales. The role holder is part of the Management Team and works closely works with the Country General Manager and other stakeholders in defining the eCommerce strategy and business development plans for the company which contributes over 10% to the organization’s sales revenue. This includes budget allocation, evolving and achieving Annual Business Plans, supervising, fine-tuning, and monitors the execution of the eCommerce sales strategy of the Company on various channels. The role works closely with the Marketing function to explore opportunities to improve our brands’ image and market share on online marketplaces, in accordance with the companies’ policies and strategies. The incumbent also coordinates closely with Supply Chain to ensure accurate demand/sales forecasting and on-shelf availability.

Responsibilities

1. Build and execute the strategy for exponential growth of eCommerce in the Country, including acquiring and scaling new growth channels.

2. Manage the P&L for the eCommerce business by delivering on short term and long term business plans, focusing on accelerated growth.

3. Monitor trends in the eCommerce market, translate into execution plans and direct the team to activate.

4. Build strategic business partnerships and leading joint business plans with eCommerce channels such as Amazon and eCommerce distributors and partners to deliver sales targets.

5. Oversee and manage all activities related to performance marketing, content, assortment, sales, distribution and customer service for the eCommerce business.

6. Coordinate with Trade Marketing to ensure pricing harmony between retail partners and eCommerce, yet maintaining a level of independence to scale the business.

7. Interface with Supply Services to ensure high on-shelf availability of products for sale on all eCommerce platforms.

8. Provide thought leadership and advice to the Management Team on eCommerce.

9. Understand the 6Ps of eCommerce i.e. Product, Price, Promotion, POSM, Placement and Performance and how it translates to growth in sales.

10. Implement actions to drive Sales through the magic formula of unique visitors, conversion rate, per customer transaction and retention rate.

11. Strategize key event actions including timing, offer, message, media and growth.

12. Implement systems, reporting tools and analytics tools to aid business growth.

13. Collaborate with regional and Market Unit eCommerce teams for best practice sharing and adoption.

3. Initial background in CPG retail sales and transitioned to eCommerce, consistently delivered and exceeded eCommerce sales targets in the last 5 years.

4. Has managed and delivered strong, profitable growth in CPG categories on Amazon and other eCommerce channels in United States.

5. Data-driven decision making, especially proficient in performance marketing and has experience in media mix modelling for eCommerce.

6. Has delivered digital business transformation in his experience and understands the challenges and pitfalls of organization changes.

7. Demonstrated ability in driving product and category strategies for omni-channel and eCommerce platforms.

8. Exceptional understanding of customer and market behavior and ability to adapt to changes.

9. Ability to influence and deliver results through high matrix, cross-cultural and cross-geographic organization.

10. Demonstrated strong business judgment and decision-making skills.

11. Ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives.

12. Has grown and groomed a small organization into a high performing team that adapts to the changing business.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, e-commerce, or related field

2. Proven experience in e-commerce management, preferably in a leadership role.

3. Overall 10 Years of experience, with at least 5 years of CPG / eCommerce experience preferred.

4. Experience working in a multinational environment is preferred, especially across timezones and conducting remote meetings with colleagues in different countries.
